Wishful Scrapping

I've been trying to "wishful scrap" warm weather into existence....
.I did this project and tried submitting it for publication at the beginning of March...but it didn't get picked up...which means I get to share it with you all....

This clear box started out as a container for a rubber stamp set I bought at that craft store with a man's name on clearance for like $3...they had bunches of them...anyway after I took the stamps out I thought...I could so do something fun with this box...and I found some acetate sheets I had in my stash to use for the pages...some very fun summery Doodlebug Color Coordinates, and some fun ribbon...oh and some bazzill cardstock...

kind of hard to see "clear" in pictures but the pages of the minialbum are acetate with Doodlebug pattern paper and Bazzill cardstock mounted on it...

Once I got the idea out of my head, this project went together really fast as the acetate was already cut to a standard card size and fit inside the box perfectly, the Doodlebug collection was already coordinated so all I had to do was pick out matching cardstock and ribbon.

I'm off to work...if you have bored boys, of the large or small variety.. Spike TV has been doing this Star Wars marathon since last weekend playing all the movies, the makings of etc...mine have been glued to it...which makes little sense since we own all of these movies and various acouterments....

but who can solve the mystery of boys...? But all of this Star Wars marathoning has sparked a certain amount of controversy and conversation in our house and it is a question that I'm sure has been asked before....

Who was "the chosen one" the one to bring balance to "the force" told by the prophecy...was it Darth Vader/Annakin or was it Luke Skywalker?....

Our house is in a split decision on this subject...what do you think?

That's it for now, Thanks for stopping by and have a great night..I'll be stopping by to "read" everyone later..

What an adorable idea---it turned out really cute!! I'm ready for summer myself and normally I hate hot weather.

We've caught bits and pieces of the star wars marathon too. I'll have to ask hubby and boys your question and come back with our results!

Have fun at work

Hubby and youngest dd (star wars fan) say it's Luke Skywalker. Because something about Darth is already the evil, which means Luke brings the balance to the force with his goodness. Of course I am only reporting to what was told to me when I asked.

I only seen the original Star Wars, when it aired the very first time at the movies. Many, many years ago. LOL

Sarah has been watching Spike all weekend long, and even watch one of them again yesterday after we got home. She has informed me that she just loves Star Wars. She is 8 1/2 yrs. old. Who would of "thunk" this would be her favorite.

Cute project, way to get creative with a good deal find. I do hope you are feeling better now, of course you better not be overdoing it yet. You don't want a relapse.

LOVE that pool deck~the clear sheets with the pool/summer theme is perfect*!*

As for "the chosen one"....
I don't give a cr*p what anyone says....it's Princess Laia.

#1~she's a GIRL
#2~she's the only one EVER to sport (and pull off) those hot as h*ll bun braids.

Lovely layouts!! I think it was Darth VAdar - not that I have a clue what I am talking about!

Have a good WEdnesday - see ya - Kellan

I think it's Luke, because Yoda sensed the fear in Darth and didn't think that he was the chosen one. AND Luke was the son and therefore the savior. Very Christian theme there. (and although I totally LOVE Dianna's idea, nope, sorry wasn't Leia...she was just a decoy most of the time;).

Yes, we like Star Wars in my house. And I totally get why the boys would be glued to the set. There's something more appealing about watching it when you know there's a bunch of other people watching it with you.

I'll be looking forward to your visiting me in jail:). Can you imagine, the police are going to pull me over on the bicycle trail???

I love the colours in that project - just perfect.

I think in this house the vote would go to Darth Vader as he was on 'both sides'!

The album is too cute. I am not a star war fan so I can't answer your question! LOL

cute box! As for Star Wars - I'm glad I don't have a Telly - I'd never get anything done.

My boys have been watching the Star Wars Marathon too! We own none of the movies but they want me to DVR everything. There are not enough hours available for that and besides, I'll be darned if I am recording Star Wars before Jon and Kate + 8.

Way too cute album. Loving the colors. Very summery.

I agree with Dianna. The chosen one is Leah.

LOVE this project...so much fun!

I think that the Star Wars question is a bit too deep for my non-caffeinated (hmmm, I need to go start the coffee) mind this morning.

I love that picture of Britain, so cute! We don't have spike tv, but I know what you mean about the kids watching movies that are on TV. My kids always watch Harry Potter on TV and we have a lot of the movies already. I'm excited to see that Quantum Leap is on Ion channel. Do you remember that show?

I am so glad to see and hear that you are almost back to your old self again. I am sorry I haven't been on here in a while to check on you, but I have cherished our phone conversation. Can't wait to see you and give you the hug that I couldn't over the phone.

Ok, I am getting a bit worried now. This is not like you to not post for this long. I do hope you are doing ok, and are just over busy.

I love your idea!! I just may have to see if I can find those stamps around here! Your project was great!

I personally think that it was Darth. Even though he took a bad turn and ended up on the dark side, he's the one who got rid of the Emperor... therefore bringing balance. tee-hee
