I love making bookmarks, because not only are they a fast and super easy project,
they make a great gift tucked into a new book.
The first time I met Christi we met for lunch at Eckert's
one of my favorite places that I miss terribly!
Anyway,
having previously been blogland friends and GoodReads friends
Christi went through my "to read" list and
gave me 4 0r 5 books of hers on that list with the
sweetest little bookmark tucked in.
I thought that was one of the most thoughtful things ever!!
Still working, dreaming, playing and hoping to be up and running soon!!
Have a great Sunday!

TODAY.....

...TODAY....
There is so much promise in that one little word
Today...I found out that I will not be able to stay in my current job that I really love
Today...I decided to be grateful for all the love and support in my life
Today...I am deciding to not feel sorry for myself
Today...I got an email from my bestest friend and soul sister that said
"I think God is setting you up for success by losing your job"
So I'm sharing
Here's my little secret
I'm opening a WEB STORE front selling

The kits are going to be amazing
this much I can promise
because I had A LOT of help
putting the first one together
and I am so very excited to share them with you!
I promise
there will be lots of fun to be had,
friends to be made
and
inspiration to be found
Very Soon
I will introduce you to
my incredibly fabulous and talented

God Bless these women
for agreeing to join this dream of mine
and helping me to make it come true

Owl love you forever...

I'm in lurve with this

These little guys are just the cutest!
I ordered them in brown, but you can order them in any color you want.
I haven't ever done an 8 1/2 x 11 layout, but I've been making a few lately mostly because
I have this album I bought on clearance forever ago, and I really am making an effort to actually put my layouts into albums instead of boxes.
Am I the only one who does that?
Anyway I really like working with this size,
It's so much less pressure to not have to fill up that huge 12x12 square.
Supplies used on this layout:
Paper is Basic Grey Lime Rickey and Sassafrass Lass

Here's what we've been up to...

My whole family was in town for Rob's Chief Induction Ceremony on Saturday Night.
It was so awesome to have them here to share it with us, and my mom has decided to stick around for awhile, since he'll be leaving to go to a class in Alabama for a couple weeks.
Why is it hard to get your mojo going
when there are people around?

Get Happy Line
some more of that older paper I needed to use up
You can do so many fun things with vinyl
Stop by the store and check it out!
Something tells me those blast off rub ons are probably about to go on sale!
There's another reason you're hearing this song...I do have a secret.
One I'm not quite ready to share yet but I promise I will be soon.
There are still a few kinks that need to work out, but hopefully they will and in the next week or two I'll be ready to spill my guts!
I'm really excited about it and I hope you will be too!!
We actually got out of the house for a few hours yesterday,
granted we just went to a friends house around the corner but it was still out of the house!
I'm venturing out this morning to get the mop on my head fixed,
both our families are due to come in this weekend for Rob's big hoopla and we have a lot to get done around here.
One thing about being snowed in for over a week,
I also had to buy my dress, heels, hose and everything
else I needed for this coming weekend and my new endeavor online...
and now it's all stuck in the UPS system due to the weather!!
So probably on Monday or Tuesday the UPS guys is going to show up and just park his truck in the driveway!
We're supposed to get another storm on Tuesday!

Believe with all your heart...

Supplies Used:
All products available at
I really like the look of sewing on paper...
but man,
it is a pain in the butt
to take out all the crap it takes to do that..LOL
So I want you all to really take a minute
to appreciate the work that went into that very simple card up there...
ok I'm kidding
Well, we're going on day 7 of being snowed in...
We're beyond a little bit nutty here at this point.
and at some point last night during our 6th movie marathon
someone in this house...and I won't mention any names
ate what was left of the chocolate
There is hope though, I think there's a good chance we'll be back at work tomorrow
the sun is actually peeking out
I'm going to go lay on the floor
in front a window in my underwear and drink a margarita

Rain or Shine...

Supplies Used:
All available at
Cardstock is PTI...
I swear using this stuff makes a huge difference in my stamped images especially in coloring them
I colored the image in using Martha Stewart markers and a SU Blending Pen
Guess What?
It's snowing again!
I actually ventured out of the house today, I've been doing work from home.
They haven't been letting anyone on the base except for base residents and essential personnel. Good thing I live here!
They opened the Commissary for just a little while and had the SP's there making sure no one got out of hand...
I actually saw fights breaking out over milk!
I took my friend Liz though, and we had fun.
I'm glad I did because the line took over an hour,
so it was nice having someone to chat with.
We were supposed to go shopping together so she could
help me pick out a dress for this big banquet we have coming up...
Well, I'm not getting to the mall in the foreseeable future so I ordered a dress online and we went grocery shopping instead!
Toilet Paper/ Cocktail Dresses
I'm sure you can see the correlation, right?
I love having a truck.
We share a belief that calories don't count when your snowed in.

We Were Here...

Remember when I told you I found a bunch of older paper..?
Well this was part of it
This is some old Dreamstreet paper which I just love
I used to have this thing where I would buy two sets of the same paper
because I hated to cut it up

I know there's a whole reality series about me

Love Gives Us a Fairytale...

I snapped this picture of Britain today while the boys were playing in the snow. I don't get very lucky getting good pictures of him anymore, he usually likes to roll his eyes and make dorky faces whenever I pull out the camera, but I caught him just right this time.

Supplies Used:
Paper is Memory Box

Ever since I got this stamp set I wanted to use that Fairy Stamp,
but I just couldn't seem to make it work with anything.
I'm still not sure I did, but I just love her!
I've been stuck in the house all weekend due to the snow,
but I got a lot of stamping and projects done so I'm pretty excited about that!
I've been rearranging a lot of my crap, so I unearthed
a whole bunch of paper I forgot I had.
So, you'll be seeing a bunch of that in the days to come...

LIMELIGHT CHOCOLATE PROJECT DAY!!

It's LIMELIGHT PROJECT DAY!!
This months focus is Chocolate. Wow, what a chore! LOL!
I found the little jar for .99 at Joann's and filled it with my favorite guilty pleasure (well besides coffee of course)
Chocolate covered pretzels...these don't last long at all at my house...
we're constantly hiding them from each other , we should probably be on an episode of Hoarders.
Anyway back to the project
My Nesties cut out the cute little flower label
Products are available at

Well, I'm a little late getting this up because internet has been so spotty. I have never ever seen this much snow. No really, I know I said that here right around Christmas when we got 24 inches, but we're way past 24 inches, and it's still supposed to snow all day. When I let the dogs out this am, I had to dig a well so I could open the door. They were able to kind of hop on top of it for a couple steps, then they sunk and I couldn't see them at all. Thankfully the fence around the patio kept a small area somewhat clear big enough for them to do their business. The bed of my truck is full up to the roof. I will post some pictures later, but right now the wind is so strong all you can see is white.
I can say we've definitely had a fair dose of togetherness this winter.
I'm starting to feel a little like Jack Nicholson in The Shining.
The first thing I'm doing when I can get out of my driveway again is going tanning.
Well, maybe not the first thing...but it's on my list
Go see what the rest of the chicks are up to:

Memories...

These pictures were taken last summer at the National Harbor. There's this really amazing sculpture there of Neptune, that looks like he's climbing out of the ground.
It's so huge you really can't appreciate it from a photo, you have to be above it to get the whole picture. You can sit in his hand and climb into his mouth it's really awesome!

Supplies Used:
I colored in the stamp using DerWent inktense watercolor pencils
The coolest thing about EAD Designs?...
Emily can pretty much make anything you want out of vinyl!!!
The best thing about EAD Vinyl Rub-ons...?
They rub on to your project like butter and then they actually stay on.
I don't know about you, but as I pull out some of my older layouts I've noticed the rub ons tend to rub off with time...not so with EAD VINYL!!!
