You were born to fly...

I first started working with canvases about 5 or 6 years ago
I used to scrapbook on them,
which later evolved to sort of photo collages and even some home decor
I mostly hated what I made
I look at them even now with such a critical eye, and then I think
everything I have ever made, love it or hate it
is all just part of who I am and who I want to be
I believe that's true for all of us in most things that we do
why do we struggle so much with ourselves?
why is it so hard to just let go?
I found a bunch of these canvas boards recently while going through some old boxes
I had even already primed them before stuffing them away
anyway, I've played with them a little the past couple weeks
and I really like the way this one turned out
it's one of the few times what I saw in my head actually happened "out loud"

K&Co paper (bird), Pink Paislee artisan tape, music sheet
acrylic paint, Unity Stamp, bird cage rub ons from Michaels
The phrase makes me think of a Sara Evans Song
that always makes me feel so free
"how do you wait for Heaven, who has that much time
and
how do you keep your feet on the ground
when you know
you were born
to
fly
fly
fly"

thanks for stopping by!
