ARE YOU READY

to

MEET the DESIGN TEAM!!

Hello!

I'm Amber Hight!

I started out scrapbooking, but when I found the exciting world of stamping, it took over! I will never lose the title "Scrapbooker", so I'm now known as the "Stamping Scrapbooker"! My husband and I currently live in Okinawa Japan. We are both active duty in the Air Force. We have two furr-babies, Luke and Jesse, my little *Hahahahaha!* labs. You can visit me here http://stampingscrapbooker.blogspot.com

My name is Ashley Nguyen Newell.
I am a stay at home mom to two amazing little boys, Brady who is 2.5 and Parker who is 9 months. I found stamping about 3 years ago and it's been a passion of mine ever since. I love having a creative outlet and sharing my work with everyone. I am so excited to help Amy start this new venture in her life and I am SO flattered to have been asked to be a part of this amazing team!

Hi! I'm Christi!

I am a stay-at-home mom to my adorable 2 year old daughter, Kat, and energetic 15 year old son, Jacob. My DH of 17years is Ben and he drags us around the world every couple of years with his active duty job in the Air Force which currently has us stationed in Illinois.

I have been crafting in one manner or other all of my life, but that became a papercrafting passion 14 years ago when I discovered stamping and scrapbooking. I love all things associated with these crafts and am willing to try any technique at least once. I love the challenge of trying new things and stretching my creativity while creating something new and beautiful. I love to share this hobby with others and have been very lucky to work with a publishing company out of the UK that produces several papercrafting magazine titles for the last 7 years.

Most days you will find me sitting in front of piles of paper and stamps, but my other loves are reading and coffee so I can often be found wandering the aisles of my local Barnes & Noble.

My blog can be found at http://alteredambitions.blogspot.com/and I host an inspiration/creative prompt blog at http://creativeprompts.blogspot.com/

My name is Sherry Campbell and I am a Mom to a teenage son and to a beautiful dog and a crazy cat. I am also a dispatcher and manager for a regional trucking company which keeps me on my toes every day. When I’m not working I am hanging out with my boyfriend, family and my friends. I love to watch movies, read books and most of all STAMP. Sherry Campbell http://workingandstamping.blogspot.com/

I've got an idea for a new blog that is currently under construction...

Chic Book Reviews

I wanted a way to share my love of books (especially chick books, no matter how fluffy) with whoever wants to listen..I know a lot of you are bookworms like me and I thought it would be a really fun way to feature books/authors and maybe open up discussion...maybe even a forum to trade books you've read with each other...whaddya think...??

For me, books have been an escape from the everyday my whole life..I honestly don't know how I would have made it through middle school without them...

ANYWAY...

I'm hoping to get it up and going in the next couple weeks!

Don't forget the Sketch challenge in the post below!! You have until Monday to enter for a chance to win a package of Sliding Doors from Limelight Papercrafts!!

We're off to fencing!

Have a great Tuesday!

Growing In Unity..Day 3

Hope your week is going FABU...
This should be our last day on the road
Looking forward to not feeling my butt vibrating for a few days
and spending sometime in the Hotel Whirlpool
with some other things that are bubbly..

Here's what I have to share with you today...

It was incredibly simple to make this little Valentine Treat bag filled with Hershey Kisses.

I used a felt square that I folded in half and stitched around the bottom and side. Turned it inside out. I freehand cut from felt the red heart and stitched it to the front. Then cut slits to thread the ribbon through to tie it closed. To make the Card and Tag I used Unity Stamp Company: Owl Always Love You,August KOM and Mix up of Cuteness. Paper is Bazill and Fancy Pants.

and a card...

For this I used Unity Stamp Company Aug KOM

Paper is Basic Grey, and K&Company

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Quickie...

Just a quick post because it's Landon's birthday and I'm already supposed to be watching Indiana Jones...

First let me say (and believe me I know I say this alot lately, but seriously you've got to go check it out) You still have a few hours to go place an order at Unity and still get in on the Hip Hop Thursday smokin' deals. Today use the code HIP25 for 25% off your order + you get the Hey Chic stamp set for 2 bucks if you place and order over 25$. There's also a bundle package of the new releases. Shipping is always 5 bucks.

Which brings me to one of my best scrappy days EVA EVA EVA...I was over at Christy's playing with stamps when she opens her email and says "Did you know you're on the Unity Blog?" ...

"WHA WHA HUH?" (me)

"Come Look." Christy

Oh Holy Honey Bunches of Oates!!! Go look here. By the way I used the "Hey Chic" stamp set for that card.

ok..running out of time here...so here's my card for the Unity Hip Hop Challenge today which was to use flowers on a card.

Supplies
Pattern Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Fancy pants
Unity Stamps: Distress Dots, Sept KOM, Oct KOM
some tiny flowers and bling...

ok really got to go now
grateful for
a great bday with Landon
fun time with Christy
St Louis bread company
Unity's great deals
Angela (Unity owner) featuring lil ole me on her blog...THANKS!
Thanks for stopping by

Hello Monday...

The boys had a five day weekend and the weather has been so nice. I wanted to do something nice and take them to the zoo, the fall colors are absolutely beautiful there this time of year...plus with cooler weather the animals seem to be more fun to look at...(hey if I had to lay in the 90 degree sun licking my butt while people stared at me all day, I'd probably be in a bad mood too)

BUT..my kids didn't want to go the zoo...they weren't really "in the mood"...ok whatever...so instead I took them school clothes shopping...for some strange reason incomprehensible to me they LOVE the mall...I hate the mall. I could take a week here telling you all the reasons I hate they mall...but really I wanted them to actually wear the clothes I bought which means letting them pick them out...so I cowboy-ed up...and we went to JC Penney...which I must say has some pretty awesome bargains right now...

They also hate the camera right now...I pull it out-they get obnoxious..it's sort of an autonomic response...so here's a couple picture of the boys at the food court...

that's Landon behind the bag

and Britain
I've also made a few things...on Friday I made this chalkboard...I had been wanting one of these for the kitchen for a while and I finally found the size I was looking for.

I made this a little hastily...I'm still not sure how much I like it... it only took like 20 minutes not include drying time
I also made this little card...I just love this stamp Christi let me borrow it. It's by Rubber Stamped.

Today, I did two layouts. I don't usually stamp on layouts, I don't know why I never have. So I've been practicing. Unity Stamp Company makes it so easy to do so because their stamps are so versatile.
This first one is based on Pencil Lines sketch of the week #106

Ever since the kids were babies I've sung this song to them...of course now I get eye rolls and exasperated "Maa-ooms!"
Supplies Uses: American Crafts paper
Unity Stamp Company: Oh What a Beautiful Morning, Sept KOM

This is a second interpretation of the same sketch I just turned it and chaged up the elements a little.
Supplies used:
Pattern Paper: Memory Makers, Dreamstreat, We R Memory Keepers
Unity Stamp Company Sept KOM, Oct KOM
Letters: Memory Makers
I spent some time at my neighbor Pat's today...Look what she gave me!

She found these at an Estate Sale! I just love them! Thanks Pat! She also gave me a bunch of these...

Aren't they fun?! Go see what she's doing with them here.

That's all!
Thanks for stopping by!
Gratitude:
1. HBO
2. My cool neighbor
3. The long weekend (even though it's over ;-( )
4. beautiful weather
5. krispy kreme pumpkin spice donuts...heaven

My Day in Pictures

This morning after dropping the boys off at school I met my friends Leslie and Dawn here...
This is Leslie...
Which happens to be inside our new Target...I resisted the urge to spend $100 on stuff I don't need, which is what usually happens there...That is Leslie above, Dawn wasn't there yet. At which time they both informed me that they "don't really drink coffee"....WTH!!!! Had they answered this question on my friendship application I may have had to turn them down, I mean who ever heard of such a crazy thing...(just kidding really..)

I don't drive in the city (the city being St Louis) if I can help it, the highways are crazy here and people drive like maniacs (at least to me they do, because the highway is kind of scary...don't tell, okay? ) it makes me all sweaty and cranky...so Thank Goodness Dawn volunteered to drive.

First we went to For Keeps Sake, this is a really great store in South County that is in the process of becoming even bigger. I love my LSS, but it's nice to go to other places too, they had a lot of stuff there that I haven't seen in the stores around here...

Leslie was very excited about the whole section they had for firemen...she's married to one...and no, don't get any ideas, you can't have him. I swear we were walking around the store squeaking over all the great stuff...especially all the monkey stuff...Les is crazy over monkeys...me and Les that is, not Dawn she's not really a squeaker.. and I was so over my head about the "Creative Cafe" I had heard of these but have never seen one....

I really want to come back for a crop, I hope to sometime soon so I can play with all the stuff in the cafe...It makes my heart beat faster just thinking about it..

Next we went to a store called RED LEAD about 25 minutes away in West County...

OH MY HOLY SWEATY DANIEL DAY LEWIS (in The Last of the Mohicans!)

I'm so sorry if you don't live here and can't go to this store...it is Utopia, I'm pretty sure I heard angels singing when I walked in the door and the co-owner (it's owned by 2 sisters was soooo cool) I can't wait to go back! I might have to quit my job so I can take classes!

First here's Dawn, (she didn't really want me to take a picture) but can you see that paper back there hanging ON THE WALL!!! They have all these vintagey prints it's sort of wrapping paper but so much more! and the stamps, did I mention the stamps?? they have their own designs...this place is like mixed media heaven....they have all this painted, decoupaged old furniture...

See all these cards on display...???? they are being held on CHICKEN WIRE!!! with CLOTHES PINS!!!! The Chicken Wire is mounted on an old rickety ladder I am so stealing this idea...that's not all...

These fun vintage images ready to decoupage are displayed on a rusty old mattress frame... and the images....I so want to learn the whole mixed media artsy thing...I have to take a class...

Are you looking at this...?? This just makes me want to go foraging right now at garage sales, thrift stores, antique shops...everywhere...old postage marked stamps, WATCH FACES!!!, little charms, antique swizzle sticks, vintage used greeting cards...oh my

These ladies found everything that makes you say "I so never would have thought that" and put it in a store...I can't wait to go back!!

Les again....

Of Course-- all this shopping made us hungry so we stopped off for lunch, I don't have any pics of that though because I was too busy eating...and we did stop off at Making Memories in Columbia but I didn't take any pics there either...

Our shopping excursion over...time to pick up the boys...

Landon first

Britain next...

and my LOAD Challenge for the Day! Got those tickets at Red Lead...

This layout also serves as my 30 minute Thursday Layout for Lain's Challenge and was inspired by Christy's Creative Prompt ( I think #22 or 23)...

Today I'm grateful for:
1. 1 more day until my crop weekend...!!!!
2. my awesome shopping trip today with my friends
3. Dawn driving...thanks Dawn!
4. Red Lead...what a great find!!
5. Getting my blogging done before 8pm, think this might be a first!

Oh and Red Lead's website has a store you can order from and a blog (with tutorials!!!), so you should go check it out!

Thanks everyone and have a great night!
