Simple Art Piece

Hey there and Happy Sunday!

I don't know what's wrong with me but I wasn't able to sleep in at all this weekend

My brain was too busy!

Here's a 5x7 art piece I made for my family room

I used some Tim Holtz charms that I have been hoarding forever

and some MME Paper

I also misted some acrylic paint to add a little color and glued some bling to cover

up the little holes on the metal charms

and it really was just that easy...

Love it when things work out like that!

So this is a layout of the boys and a friend of theirs

I've got two little projects to share with you today..

First this card using the

EAD VINTAGE RUB ONS

The sentiment is a Verve stamp,

and the Paper is October Afternoon and Sassafrass Lass

REALLY...Everyone should try EAD VINYL Rub Ons

I think you just don't get it until you try them

and see how amazing they are

They easily work over several layers of paper because they are so thick and durable

You can even paper piece with them

and they stick to almost anything!

I also did a layout

I used the EAD VINYL RUBONS

Funky Alpha and Good Times

Paper is Cosmo Cricket, and Pink Paislee

and banner stickers from Sasafrass Lass

I made some acrylic spray and used punchinella to get that

white background, the grid is a Unity stamp

Sometimes...

Sometimes your family isn't actually related to you...

when you're a military family you often forge fast and close relationships because

you have to depend on your friends the way you do your family-

And it doesn't matter if one of you move, or if you don't still talk everyday

because when you see each other again

you just pick up where you left off

walk in their front door (without knocking)

with your kids, dogs, and suitcases

and you're home

I love this girl like she's my sister,

her kids as if they're my own,

love her hubby like a brother in law

I love how our kids treat each other like family

arguing like brothers and sisters,

but sticking up for each other in the same way

and It's the coolest thing ever that they pick up similar interests

(and taste in clothes) totally by accident

These pictures were taken last weekend when we

went to visit. Thanks so much for a wonderful time!!

Starting today in our book discussion group, we're talking about

this book

I have to say, I didn't expect to like this book

which is basically 95% a conversation in Tweet form

between two incredibly witty people

but I ended up loving it

and because of it

I've become hooked on this show

I have no idea how I missed it while it was running or how it ever got cancelled

because it is AWESOME!

You'll recognize almost all of the young actors in the show,

who are incredibly talented and you can see where it was a big launching point for them

I also have a couple cards to share...

This one uses the EAD STICKERZ SET Fluttering Blooms

and Basic Grey Olivia Paper

And for the day O'Love

I pulled out some old Unity stamps (I think it was the first Donna Downey set)

and just some PTI CS

I love simple!

Hey there Sweetness!

I've got a little altered canvas to share today

and I do mean little

it's 3x3

what a fun little size to work with!

I got these at dickblick.com and

they have little easels to stand them up on too!

I covered the canvas with gesso then added some vintage dictionary page pieces

gesso'ed some more

sprayed some acrylic paint (watered down)

added some old rub ons

stamped that cute little eiffel tower

glimmer misted a chipboard heart and added the pewter love token

Tied some tulle around it and called it done

Think maybe I'll give it to someone who could use a little love

Getting back into the swing of things now that I'm back at a full time job again,

but I really am liking it so far

Today is officially...

my. last. day. off.

LOL

before I go back to work full time at the Andrews hospital

I picked up another contract, and I am looking forward to it

it's just going to take some time to get into the swing of things

I've got a layout to share today

These pics were taken at Dover when we went to visit our

BFF's when they came back from Japan

They're stationed there now, which is thankfully just a couple hours from here

and I'm actually hoping to go visit this weekend

Paper is Bella Blvd, Basic Grey, K&Co, and Echo Park

I also used some EAD Designs VINYL RUB ONS

I'm telling you if you haven't tried vinyl rub ons, they will definitely change the way you feel about rub ons..

the vinyl is so thick and durable!

AND Most of the designs are larger, which makes them perfect for scrapbooking!
