Holy Crap!!!

No, this isn't a continuation of my exploding sewer line story...

Today's challenge was to make a Get Well card

which was perfect because I have to make a few!!
one of my stamping SCS friends Sherry, actually her Mom,
fell and broke her hip so we've been praying for her and bombarding her with cards as onlystampers/papercrafters can do
I was also able to use Amber's sketch challenge for this as well
Love it when
you can use two challenges for one project!!
If you would like to send Sherry's Mama a card,

Another "Card Shower" going on is for this most precious angel ever
Little Princess Taylor, who is turning 4 on March 3rd

Wrapping it up...

So..who's ready? I think I'm finally done shopping, everything is wrapped and under the tree.
However, I didn't get anything mailed out...not cards, not gifts...

I'm making a vow right now to start making Christmas presents for next year in February of 2009...I might even go so far as to box them up and address them so I don't have an excuse next year...LOL
I have several things to show you today.
For links to all the sites/people I reference, please see the bottom of this post.First is Amber's Monday sketch challenge at SCS. What would Monday be without these super fun sketches? I used the Unity Dec KOM, Worn Grid and Wild&Crazy Bunch, Paper is K&Co and
Basic Grey.
These little babies are probably going to be a new obsession for me. They are called "scraplings". Teeny little pieces of card scraps that pack a seriously cute punch.

They measure 1.25 x 4.25 and are perfect for a little gift tag or just because they are so stinkin' cute! I think they are so much fun..we might need to do a swap...whaddya think?
The Christmasy one was done for a challenge issued by Tanis on SCS.
This one below I played with the size a little it's 2x6..does that make it a scraplet instead of a scrapling?

Supplies used:#1 Unity Stocking, Cosmo Cricket DP; #2 Unity: Mix up of Cuteness, Sentiments O Simple Cosmo Cricket DP; #3 Unity Wild&Crazy Bunch, Thanksgiving Peeps DP is Scenic Route

I've been playing with my sewing machine!! In the back of my mind I always had this idea that I wanted to do something like this and to finally get it out of my head and create it makes me so happy..! I took a blank tee from Mike's and sewed on one of those super cute fabric tags by Amy Butler for K&Company. I stamped my Unity Nov KOM, and Gratitude =Joy stamps added buttons (with muslin behind them to help anchor) and voila....! I also added the Everlasting Romance Unity stamp to the bottom corner which you can see in the picture below.
Isn't that fun!!!
AND...

I made a Sock Monkey!! Meet "Blue"...yes his seams are all in the wrong place, and I think I made him upside down...but isn't he cute!! I looked at several different stores for brightly colored striped socks, but haven't had any luck...if you see them somewhere will you let me know? Thank you so much Kitty for sharing your pattern with me. It was really easy to follow, (and yes I still screwed it up...LOL)

This is a tile I made from those .16cent ceramic tiles at Lowe's. I used Stazon ink to distress the tile itself. Then sanded the photo and the Cosmo Cricket paper. Unity Stamps used are Oct KOM and Sentiments O Simple.
This poor kid...lost a molar yesterday and started crying because he was afraid I was going to make him go to the dentist...that's how much dental work he's had...LOL...he automatically thinks that something has gone horribly wrong...
Can you tell when it happened he had gotten into the snowball cookies?

This picture defies description...

don't worry my husband's not a crossdresser...he grabbed my coat to take the dogs out the other night because mine is the warmest ( it was 2 degrees outside) and I just had to snap a picture...I mean how could I not?
I work tomorrow and then of course Christmas so I probably won't be back until Friday!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Chistmas!!

Gratitudes:
1. these last few days off to create
2.we've been playing boardgames the past few nights, when Rob or the boys win they've gotten to open a present, when I win no one does...LOL..I think we've started a new tradition! They've been kicking my butt!
3. being able to stay in our jammies and just relax
4. Christmas lights
5. Rob figured out how to fix our garage door! What a man!!

After searching High and Low...

I found it...and let me tell you this little bugger wasn't easy to find ...I've been calling all the stores and stalking newstands since Tuesday...It's reported debut...Mary Englebreit makes me smile...and this little magazine is full of Mary (and merry) inspiration good enough to eat...I found it at Barnes and Noble...the lady there got so sick of me calling and asking for it she called me and told me to come get it as soon as she unpacked it.
We had a lovely day off around here, the boys were off school and no one wanted to go anywhere or do anything but watch movies and hang out...so after watching a movie with the boys I got my craft on and joined the Hip Hop Hoopla over at Splitcoast with Unity. They are still going strong over there, if you never have I encourage you to join...this is the coolest company and they give tons of stuff away...it's nuts...NUTS I'm telling you!...

So here's some cards I've made...don't ask me whats got me going all cardcrazy lately...that's just where inspiration has been lately...

Challenge #1 was to sew on a card...sewing is sooo not my thing but I'm trying...so I used my Bazill In Stitchz to create the birdie
Stamps are Unity Hey Chick set
Pattern Paper is Fancy Pants
and that arrow is Scenic Route

Challenge #2 was to make a masculine card
this was more difficult than I would have thought
stamps are Unity Grandfather clock single (this is a really big stamp this card is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2)
and sentiment from their Simply Said set

This one was just to make me happy...do you not love those little jailbirds...I got this stamp at Mike's with my 40% off coupon it's inkadinkado...pattern paper is memory box. Sorry the lighting isn't as good in this picture.

Soooo...I've created a cracklatte addict...now everytime I go to Starbuck's Britain has to have a Mocha Frappaccino...

right now the boys are watching Gremlins...I still cringe when they feed them after midnight

and here's a picture of why I love living here

Our Backyard...
we are faced with the possbility of moving again ....sigh....
tomorrow the boys and I are off still so we're thinking of going to the zoo...
OH...and I am 6th in line for a new blog design by Veronica....you have to go look at her work...she is lighting up blogger all over the place!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Gratititudes:
1. Finding ME's new book
2. Fall
3. I was inspired today!
4. New Grey's in 30 minutes
5. end of season sales

Everything's Coming up Roses!!

So several people asked me whether or not I was going to accept the job in Heaven (aka The Scrapbook Factory) and I have to say at this point how could I not...? right? but I'm going to go by there after work tomorrow and talk with Anne and see what's next....I'm so excited I could pee my pants!!

In other news...another super cool thing happened to me today...I am joining the team at OhScrap, on online magazine and blog soon to publish it's first issue...I don't know all the details of what you're going to be seeing in there yet and some stuff is still super secret..but I can promise it's going to be a lot of fun... I am going to be the Sketch Coordinator!! I am so excited that I already completed my first assignment! You can go subscribe here now....that would be now....and then come back and read about the rest of what's going on around here....
I actually started to blog last night, but blogger kept giving me error messages so I gave up...
While I've been missing the past couple days, I've actually gotten quite a bit done...

This is Landon helping me with my suitcase...I'm having a lot of fun with this medium or I should say we are...but I'm not showing you anymore of it until it's done...
I should have known when I almost set the kitchen on fire yesterday boiling water for tea that it probably wasn't the best day to start this project..(I sort of forgot about putting the water on and got in the shower)...I got one side done and all impressed with my cute self, turned it over to do the other side and proceeded to put the focal point of the project..the vintage "Once in Love with Amy" ad from a 1950's Life....UPSIDE DOWN...Mod Podge is not a very forgiving sealer so it's stuck that way...it's cute still...just upside down...so I'm not sure if I'm going to just cover over it or say the heck with it and leave it...probably the latter...

Here is my Deck of Me card for week 10..prompt was describe you Happy Place

The paper is Making Memories and the Dye Cuts are from Luxe Designs Color Me Cozy...I so love this line of paper...then I inked them with my CTMH inks
and here is a layout based on one of Christi's Creative Prompts...36 I think...

I used CTMH Cardstock, Making Memories letter stickers, Bazzill cardsock for the Photo matts, Scenic Route Charlotte pattern paper and Daisy D's Beacon Hill patter paper, the butterfly and journal tag are Fancy Pants....
I also did this one of Landon..

For this one I used Bazzill cardstock, Karen Foster pattern paper, We R memory Keepers patter paper and letter stickers, Making Memories pattern paper and journaling page, Fancy Pants ribbon and ribbon holder thingie.

I had Landon home with me today, he's had a really awful cold and has been pretty miserable...but of course with the amazing power of Tylenol Cold by 11 he was feeling fine and dandy and bouncing off the walls so we...well mostly he...I supervised made some chocolate chip cookies...

they turned out really good- so his new aspiration is to become a chef...let's hope he has a lot better luck in the kitchen than I do....I'm way too easily distracted...
That's all I've got for today...thanks so much for stopping by...
Gratitude:
1. Day off with Landon
2. Baking cookies with kid mentioned above
3. Not losing my patience with same earlier mentioned kid
4. getting some scrappy stuff done...
5. staying in my pj's until (blush) about 11...
oh my gosh, I almost forgot to mention...there's this new show on Fox called New Amsterdam...it's on tonight at 8 central...or it might be 9...anyway it's really good you've got to see it and if you missed the first two episodes you can watch them on Fox.com...I watch almost all my shows on the internet anymore...I can never seem to be in front of the tv at a specific time...ok well this post has probably broken records for longest ever..so I'm outta here..
love and kisses...
MWAH!
