Growing In Unity Week!!! Day two...

Hello my funny little friends...
Well, it's Tuesday,
GIU Day 2....
and hopefully I am somewhere
past Lexington, Ky
on the road in my Dodge Dakota
free and easy down the road I go
with Houdini and Gerbil our Hamsters
and Duchess and Cocoa the dogs
and one of the kids
probably strapped to the roof with duct tape...
ok not really
BUT
enough about The Travelling Castellano's
You want eyecandy
so here ya go

I made this envelope using a 61/2 by 12 sheet of cardstock, folded up the bottom to about two inches from the top and stiched around the sides to create a pocket. I then folded down the top to creat a flap, and scalloped the edge and rounded all the corners. I used Unity Stamp Company: Giggle Grove, Growing in Unity, and Circle of Thanks. Paper is Basic grey Offbeat. Love that paper!

And a layout...

I used Unity Stamp Company Nov KOM, Our Life Our Stories, and Smile Paper is We R Memory Keepers and Fancy Pants..

Don't forget to leave a comment because you love me!

or because you just want a chance to win free stamps

Thanks!!

Weekend Recap...

Supplies Used: Unity Stamps: Beautiful Life, Sentiments O Simple, Giggle Grove
Pattern Paper We R Memory Keepers, Cosmo Cricket
I was happy to get a couple pages done this morning...seems like when I get up really early on the weekends my mojo is at it's best...

What a fun weekend we had..On Saturday we went to Historic Main Street in Belleville for the annual Horse Drawn Trolley Ride. This is a free service that the merchants on Main Street sponsor every year to get people to shop downtown. It's so much fun! Yeah, Britain has discovered Rob's old Basic Training Flight Jacket...it's so funny how great it fits him...

We wrapped it up with lunch at our favorite pub Castletown Geoghegan. A very authentic Irish style pub, which serves up Irish Faire and Guiness (and kid friendly stuff too).
Really though, we love this place...the people that work there are so cool, the food is great and on Friday and Saturday nights they have live Irish music, they even have a sing-a-long pamphlet on every table so you can join in... and then you gotta love a place that has this

Well the Bar, yes of course...but also The official Guiness Countdown to St Patrick's Day...no, I'm not Irish...but I feel like I could be when I come here...
I finished that sewing project (my first since I was 14 and in Home Ec) that I told you about...and I totally stole this idea from Christi...as a matter of fact I even stole the fabric from her...well not entirely true she gave that to me..LOL..but this is the project that I learned to sew on...This project came from one of her 12 Days of Christmas Creating and if you didn't get over there while she was doing this, you totally should...she had such great projects...with instructions!!

Britain loves to draw, so this is a little portfolio I made (with a lot of help from Christi, she made one for her son also) to hold his sketch book, some colored pencils, and a couple mechanical pencils...I also took another one of her ideas and SERIOUSLY PEOPLE...if you don't try anything else I tell you..get you some cans of sweetened condensed milk boil them babies up and make you some carmel...oh my gosh how did I not know about this amazing treat!!
Yep, that's a Unity Stamp there on that little tag! From the Bitty Christmas Tags Set.
Thank you for the great ideas and all the help Christi!!
That's all I have for tonight...that was a whole lot!!
Gratititudes:
1. Horse Drawn Trolley Ride
2. Fun Irish pubs
3. Fun filled family weekend
4. Easy Christmas Gifts made with love (and lots of help from Christi)
5. We've decided to get a property manager for the house...keep us in your prayers please!!

Hello Monday...

I hope everyone had a really great Thanksgiving! We spent a really quiet one at home just the four of us, we spent the day relaxing and watching movies, it was great!
Here's a picture of the boys with the wishbone, Landon won!

I didn't get to the Unity Wednesday Challenge until the weekend because they did it on Tuesday and I was working...the challenge was to do a red and white thankful card...

Stamp is Unity Charming Gardeners, DP is Dreamstreet
I also did a layout...

This is a hodge podge of scrap pattern papers, Michael's 1$ stamps

and the "Life" stamp is Inkadinkadoo

I feel like I'm running low on Mojo lately, probably because I'm trying to work a little extra, and the impending move has me really stressed. You know that feeling when you're just exhausted for no real reason?...and I know this is just barely the begginning of what's coming..and really it's not the actual move itself, I know we're going to love it there and be able to find a place to live that makes us happy. Plus it's always exciting getting to live someplace new! ...it's the stress of getting out of here, finding someone to rent our house etc. etc...sorry I know, I'm rambling...ANYWAY...I've got to much stewing in my head for a good blog post...sorry...I have some time off work after Thursday so I'm hoping to have my brain more organized! Thanks!

Oh hey..can someone tell me how to get the "follower" widget thingie on your sidebar? Thanks!

Mount St Nacho, Twilight Review and a Reject...

I have a few things to share today...

First my DT Reject...LOL...I tried out for the CY DT using this layout interpretation of Sketch #3 (12x6)..their link is over there on the right. They have a lot of really great sketches there...no, didn't make the DT maybe one of these days...but that's ok...I like the way it turned out..

Supplies used: Unity Scalloped Journal and Nov KOM...love that tree DP is Kaiser, Making Memories, CTMH

Based on CPS #92 Supplies used: Unity Stamp Co "Something Within" DP K and Co

Soooo...What did you think of Twilight? I really liked it, and I would like to go see it again. I thought the casting choices for almost everyone were dead on..the only ones that bugged me were Jasper and Alice, mostly Alice...not at all what I pictured in my head, but I think I'll get over it as they make the next two. A lot of the conversation between Edward and Bella was lost in translation and so it seemed kind of choppy to me in parts as well. Still, I loved it...I think it made a good compliment to the book and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the next one.

I went with my friend Mechelle, and her 16 year old daughter Sara...the Movie Theatre got all froggy when I tried to take pics there, but here's a pic of us having lunch afterwards..

Sara fell in love with Edward as soon as he hit the screen, but I explained to her that I wasn't sharing him until she reads the books, Mechelle read the books too and she agrees...

This is Mount St Nacho...seriously...what was I thinking?...
Afterwards, we went thrifting at Goodwill...because it's super fun... while we were there they had Christmas music playing and there was a woman who was singing along opera style REALLY loud and she was serious...she was not playing...I wanted to take her picture but I was too busy peeing my pants laughing so hard plus Mechelle kept telling me to stop it and be nice (Mechelle is a very nice person) but I couldn't help myself (I mean no offense to any Christmas Carol Opera singing Goodwill customers out there) So Sara and I joined in the carolling...and then we made Sara try on lot's of goofy clothes and model them for us...she's a pretty good sport...I told her I know it's a lot of fun to hang out with really cool mom's like us, but not to get used to it....just kidding Sara!

So that's all I've got...I've got to get to the post office and mail Eclipse and New Moon to Steph in Japan...I promised I'd do it a week ago...oops... Steph (oh she who was so not interested in reading Twilight) started the books about a week and a half ago after I sent them to her and then called me and said..."um I'm halfway through New Moon...when can you send the last two"...LOL

Supplies Used: Unity Sentiments O Simple, Fanciful Dots ,DP Cosmo Cricket
