You know how I love to do that!!

Yesterday the weather was perfect,

and even though the pollen is so high none of us can hardly breathe
we decided to drive out to Annapolis...

LOL

Can you tell the sun was in their eyes?

I even made the teen turn off his phone for a few hours...

It's so nice when someone offers to take a family picture...we have so many pics of just two or three of us...but not that many of the four of us

The grounds at the US Naval Academy and all around Annapolis are beautiful,

it really does look like the movies that have been filmed there.

There's this really cool vibe , a lot of people live right there in all of these historical buildings which would be so fun I think and they're sitting out on their front porches drinking coffee and people watching.

People just out and about walking their dogs.

And interspersed you see all the dress whites of the US Naval Academy MidShipmen out for the day on base lib. Which gave it this whole "Officer and a Gentlemen" feel...and yes I know it wasn't filmed there. LOL

this was a subject of much discussion during the day..

and I'm happy to say

"I WAS RIGHT!!"

It's also known as a pet friendly city, so the resturaunts have dog bowls on the outside tables in case you brought your furry friends..

LOVED THAT!!

Which is soooo much more than just another cookbook.

I'm fascinated by this woman and her country life, her "Marlboro Man"

and her very cute kids. She's had a blog for several years, which has turned into a bit of an enterprise.

I distress the tag by crunching it all up and then spraying it with the

I hope you guys LOVE IT!!

It's no wonder I've had cherries on my brain

when this is the view of my street and all over D.C.

right now...

It's probably not a huge secret I'm not a big fan of living here...

I'm more of a small town mid west kind of girl

but I have to say,

I've never seen anything like the beauty of the

Cherry Blossoms in full bloom in the spring.

I am really, really missing this little girl right here...

my sister actually took a pic of Christi, Kat and I but it turned out all blurry

I have a very tempermental camera...

well ok...I don't really know how to use my camera
Anyway..

I was so excited to get to see little Kit Kat when we went back to Illinois,

we are great friends, her and I

AND

I am so lucky to have her Mom for a friend

she's always great company for conversation, a little wine, and a lot of coffee!!

Christi

was one of several people

(all to be thanked her separately in the very near future)

who jumped in to help me with this adventure

right away giving her opinion and LOTS of time

helping me pick out contents for the kits.

I'd love to have lots of pictures of my boys reuniting with their friends in Illinois,

however,

apparently I am no longer allowed to follow them around like a

"MAMA-RAZZI"

"it's embarrassing, GEESH!!"

Plus, I pretty much dropped them off at a friends's house and didn't see them again until we left....

SOooooo

This time was so precious to me..

Jenny and I didn't grow up in the same house

(we have different moms)

and so we never really got to be as close as either of us would have liked

BUT

Time and growing up and living far away gives you completely different perspective I think

We had such a wonderful time, like old girlfriends!

Getting mani's and pedi's, hanging out

and she held my hand a little,

when I started crying because a GIRL was hugging my teenager!

AND

it was so awesome for the boys get to know their Aunt Jenny

and I think my youngest is crushing just a little!!

It was important to me that each kit stand on it's own...but I also want you to get the most bang for your buck and be able to do a lot of "cross over" if you wanted to..

Soooo

when you start to see projects with this kit, you might notice elements from both...I think this is so fun!!
