On the "bad girl" list...

I have been such a bad blogger.....I have just had a time getting rid of this crap and it's still lingering....and it's left me so...well ...depleted...I guess is the best word for it... I start to feel better, go about doing regular "stuff" then need to take a nap because I'm exhausted...but enough of that....I try to keep this a happy place...:-)

I actually got a little creating going today and it make me feel good...it feels like it's been forever since I made anything...
I did these cards for a class I'm going to teach in May.. I wanted them to be nice, but also kind of simple so they would work for the class...

These are made with Heidi Grace patterned paper, Worldwinn Cardstock, and Hero Arts stamps...

A 2 page layout...haven't actually done a layout in forever I've been so busy with swaps and class stuff..

I used Bazzill Cardstock, Pattern Paper by CTMH, and Dreamstreet and Lace Cardstock by KI Memories...Title is "Starstruck"

and I got my cards done for the Deck of Me challenge..so I am all caught up!

week 13 was "what makes you laugh everyday?"

week 14 is "is your glass half empty or half full?"

This weekend is CKC St Louis, and I've really been looking forward to it. I'll be helping out at the SBF's booth, but I also have an entire day of cropping on Saturday with friends which I booked back in January. So, needless to say, things have been pretty busy at the store..but I LOVE IT...it's like Christmas everyday...all these boxes of wonderful things coming in to play with...unfortunately with the loss of my primary income though, it's also torture because I can't afford to buy it all...LOL...but I've got some prospects out there so keep your fingers crossed for me and we'll see.

The "girls" at the SBF have all been so nice and wonderful to me, and I'm enjoying working with them so much, you can really tell everyone there really loves this hobby and wants to be there...it's pretty refreshing....and I'll be there tomorrow working and helping to load up for the show...so if I can I'll get some pics posted tomorrow.

Anyway, thanks everyone so much for the well wishes and for checking in on me....fingers crossed, I'll be here tomorrow with a new Ricetta...

Gratitudes:

1. I think I actually saw the sun for a minute or two today

2. Our grass is starting to grow

3. Britain has taken this interest in plants lately, I'll have to show some pics of his mini greenhouse

4. Landon snuggles

5. sleep

Let's talk about glue...

Anyone who comes by knows about my obsession with adhesive...well let me say that I am in L.O.V.E. with this stuff

Beacon's 3 in 1 craft glue...it dries clear, it dries very fast and it will stick anything to anything else...except felt...for felt you need felt glue...but anything else this is your ticket...I 'm going to need a bucket of it, I use it on almost everything I do, the applicator is so precise for small things like buttons and googly eyes....and Mr. Beacon wherever you are, if you want to send me some free glue, I'd love some!!

speaking of googly eyes I completed my card for the Deck of Me for week #6...prompt for this week was what do you need to get rid of in your life...mine is guilt...here is my card

oh and we had to use junk mail on the card....and how did I get heart shape cards you ask??...well I got super happy mail today from Dianna, and I'm really surprised because she keeps threatening to kick my ass, but THANK YOU so much Dianna it was so nice to get a fun little surprise in the mail!! and Robin sent me a handmade thank you for her goodies she recieved for participating in one of the VDay countdown projects...so I got good mail today!! that almost never happens...so thanks again!!

I love my coffee themed magnetic pad it went right on the fridge...

you've probably noticed that my template has changed...I like it better but somehow in the process I lost my link list, so sometime this week I hope to get it back up along with our walking list and whatever else disappeared over there and ok I know I was going to start walking today but we're having an ice storm, really, so I'm really sucking at this whole motivate everyone else to walk thing...but I promise as soon as it gets better I will go walk please don't judge me..I would feel guilty about it but refer to the card above...it seems like I lost a whole bunch of stuff over there on the right so I've got to figure out what all of it was...and while you're reading this I hope your enjoying my new playlist...

I caught up on Christi's Creative Prompts today

#26

I used Worldwinn Cardstock, Pattern Paper by Scrapworks, letter stickers by Creative Imaginations
#27

Bazzill cardstock, Pattern Paper by Bo Bunny and My Mind's Eye, Buttons by Daisy D's, letter stickers by SEI

#28

Bazzill, Pattern Paper Memory Makers, tags stampin' up, and found items

Does anyone else's kid do this? I go to pick the boys up from school today in the "Ice Storm of 2008" and Britain informs me he needs dry ice for his science fair project...right now...oh and by the way mom, I also need magnets, a diorama board, push pins, safety pins and cardstock...do you know how hard it is to find dry ice? it's not easy...and when I did find a place they were closed so we got all the other stuff, Rob is going to pick up the dry ice tomorrow, we were able to do his project with everything but the dry ice and we'll finish when we get it...and then I caught him telling Landon, "mom's pretty cranky"... ya think...???

did you know that the colder a magnet gets the more safety pins it picks up? just a fun fact for you...

and before anyone asks me I did get a cinnamon crackalatte today...and I don't care how many points are in it.

Gratitiude:

1. getting caught up on my creating 2. I made the best banana bread ever today because I had bananas about to go bad, but I don't want someone to tell me how many points are in it or how much bigger my butt is going to be due to my short stature and "cylindricalness"

3. getting the house stuff done 4. getting most of Britain's science project done 5.my friend Tonia is going to watch the dogs Sunday/Monday so we can go spend the night at Rend Lake..( we have a free night there so we're so excited for a night out)

Friday is FUN Project Day!!!

"Your Last Chance to Redeem Yourself Because Valentine's Day is Less Than A Week Away Movie Quote Mini Album"
I am very late because this ended up taking me longer that I thought it would...
Here's what you need:
2 pieces of solid cardstock (I used WorldWinn) 12x12
1 piece of 8 1/2 by 11 to print your quotes out
Several pieces of pattern paper (I used Autumn Leaves/Thrift Store)
deco edged scissors (I used Fiskars)
paper trimmer ( I used Fiskars)
adhesive (I used my Tombow tape runner)
glitter (extra fine, irridescent)
heart shape cutter (I used Fiskars)
jump ring
hole punch ( I used my crop a dile)
scraps of ribbon
scotch craft stick (glue for sugaring)

Let's go:
1. Cut out 10 hearts from your cardstock, and 10 hearts from your pattern paper using your shape cutter or other template. Mine measure approx 3 inches across at their widest point.

2. Using your deco edged scissors (various edges or the same whatever you want to do) cut around the outside edge of your pattern paper heart just enough for it to "nest" on your cardstock.
3. Using adhesive nest your pattern paper heart to your cardstock hearts...x10

4. Using your glue stick cover your hearts with glue, sprinkle extra fine irridescent glitter over the top, and tap off the excess

while you're waiting for your super cute hearts to dry eat the best gyro ever because all this hard work has made you very hungry...

ok I didn't eat this whole thing about 1/2 and I was full but it was really good...

still waiting....while your doing so search out some of your favorite movie quotes on google and print them out on the 81/2 by 11 cardstock. One of Rob and I's favorite things to do is watch movies together, so I made this album for him. I used quotes from Braveheart, The Last of the Mohicans, Napoleon Dynamite, Meet Joe Black, Legends of The Fall etc.

5. Now that they are dry, (I hope), Cut out and glue your movie quotes to your hearts. I ended up having to use Scotch quick dry because nothing wants to stick to the glitter

Line them up, punch a hole and thread your jump ring through. Add a little bit o ribbon and you're done!!
The rules:
create a project inspired by this one in some way...no stress, just make something already, and link me up in the comments here for a random drawing next Friday night where the winner will be announced to recieve some scrapjoy from me and a new project will be up.
HAVE FUN!
I had some other stuff to share but my kids need me to be a Mom right now, so I'm off...will do my usual blog hopping in the am...
Thanks for stopping by!
